Patricky Freire earned a close decision win over former UFC Lightweight Champion Ben Henderson in the main event of Bellator 183.
With Michael Chandler getting the next lightweight title shot, the Brazilian fighter wants to face Derek Campos or Goiti Yamauchi next.
"There are not many people that make much sense right now,” Freire said to MMA Fighting. "The only ones that are growing right now are Derek Campos, who I was going to give a rematch before, and Goiti (Yamauchi), who has won three in a row at lightweight. They are the only two I see right now. I don’t know who else I could fight next. They are the only two that make sense. They have complete different fighting styles. Goiti has a great ground game and Derek Campos likes to stand more, but whoever they bring would be good to me. I just way to stay in rhythm and stay in shape."
Bellator MMA Lightweight Champion Brent Primus and Freire did agree to fight through Twitter, but the promotion has decided to go in a different way.
Despite the fact that things got a little heated in the debate, it is Freire who says he has a lot of respect for the champion.
“He was never disrespectful with me, and he seems to be a very polite guy,” Freire said.
Even though Freire has challenged both Yamauchi and Campos, neither fighter has responded to his call out.
