Paul Heyman says former UFC champ-champ Daniel Cormier is no match for Roman Reigns or Brock Lesnar.
Heyman appeared on Wednesday's episode of Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show on ESPN to discuss all things mixed martial arts and pro-wrestling. The former ECW boss came for the throat straight out of the chute, going after Cormier's WWE ambitions.
"I have to be tormented by you," he told Helwani. "I didn't have time to do this from my house or my den like every other shmuck does. Like Cormier does every Monday cause he's retired and has nothing to do with his life but live out his masturbatory fantasies about stepping into the ring with either Brock Lesnar or Roman Reigns because it's always got to be a Paul Heyman guy that Cormier wants to step in the ring with. Not that I blame Cormier because he's thinking box office — which he never was."
"Daniel Cormier couldn't get a job in WWE as a freaking commentator and now is resigned to eating Popeye's chicken from his den doing podcasts on Monday with a guy [Helwani] who won't even work exclusively with him because on Thursday's he works with Chael Sonnen. Come on," Heyman continued. "I love Daniel Cormier. I think he is the second greatest heavyweight in the history of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Maybe the third greatest in MMA behind Brock Lesnar and Fedor [Emelianenko]. But let's be real. Daniel Cormier against Roman Reigns? It's not in the Octagon. In a WWE ring: one-two-three or tap, tap, tap."
