Former UFC title challenger Paulo Costa and former middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold, are being targeted for a matchup at a yet-to-be-announced UFC event on August 20.
Combate's Marcelo Russio and Zeca Azevedo were the first to report the news of the matchup being in the works, although the promotion itself has yet to officially announce anything regarding the booking or event. Costa is riding a two-fight losing streak currently and is coming off of a unanimous decision loss to former UFC title challenger, Marvin Vettori, at UFC Vegas 41. Rockhold meanwhile hasn't competed since July 2019 or fought at 185-pounds since February 2018. He was defeated by former UFC light heavyweight champ, Jan Blachowicz, via a second-round KO back at UFC 239 in his latest Octagon appearance.
