Rafael dos Anjos believes he gave Khabib Nurmagomedov his toughest challenge.
The two men battled back in 2014 at UFC on Fox 11. Nurmagomedov was victorious by unanimous decision; however, dos Anjos believes he was close to submitting with a guillotine choke.
“Khabib said he is not interested in fighting Conor or Dustin as he choked both of them," dos Anjos wrote. "He did not choke me. As a matter of fact, I got him snoring until a slipping rib saved him from (sleeping emoji)."
Dos Anjos returned to lightweight following a stint at welterweight, defeating Paul Felder by split decision at UFC Vegas 14 last month. RDA believes he is a couple of wins away from a title shot.
Nurmagomedov (29-0) retired following his submission victory over Justin Gaethje at UFC 254. He remains the UFC lightweight champion and the current number one pound for pound fighter. Nurmagomedov is planning on meeting with UFC President Dana White soon to discuss his future plans.
