The main event of next Saturday's UFC on Vegas 48 card between former UFC lightweight champion, Rafael dos Anjos, and Rafael Fiziev has been postponed to UFC 272 on March 6.
Journalist Ariel Helwani was the first to report the news of the postponement, revealing that Fiziev has suffered a delay in securing his visa to travel out of Thailand where he currently trains. The lightweight matchup will now move to UFC 272 two weeks later and will serve as the events co-headliner that will still be a five-round bout. There is no word yet on what will serve as the new main event of UFC Vegas 48 next weekend.
Dos Anjos is 2-2 in his last four Octagon appearances and is coming off of a split-decision victory over Paul Felder at UFC Vegas 14 back in November 2020. Fiziev on the other hand is riding a five-fight winning streak currently and will try to build on a third-round knockout victory over Brad Riddell at UFC Vegas 44 in his most recent outing.
