Former UFC Lightweight Champion Rafeal Dos Anjos is currently in training to make his welterweight division debut.
While there is no date set yet for the former champions divisional debut, he does have a couple of opponents in mind that he would like to fight.
“I think Robbie Lawler is a good name and a fight that interests me,” Dos Anjos told MMA Junkie. “Nick Diaz. I think I can beat these guys for sure. Those are some of the names on my mind right now.”
Dos Anjos hasn’t competed in any division since a decision defeat to Tony Ferguson at UFC Fight Night 98, it was his second straight loss in the UFC.
Even though Dos Anjos has already captured gold in the UFC, he plans on doing the same in the welterweight division.
“Welterweight is a different division, but I’m not fighting light at welterweight,” Dos Anjos said. “Everything I want to do in my life, I want to be at the top. Now I’m at welterweight, and I want to fight the best guys.”
Dos Anjos captured the UFC Lightweight Title when he defeated Anthony Pettis by decision at UFC 185, he would defend the gold once before losing it to Eddie Alvarez.
