UFC lightweight contender Rafael Fiziev has been forced out of his scheduled bout against former UFC lightweight champion, Rafael dos Anjos, in the co-main event of this weekend's UFC 272 event due to a positive COVID-19 test.
The news of Fiziev's removal was first reported by journalist Ariel Helwani on the latest edition of his show The MMA Hour, where he revealed the news to dos Anjos while interviewing him. Fiziev himself also confirmed his removal from the event, posting a series of tweets to his official Twitter account detailing his current condition. As of right now, the promotion hasn't announced if dos Anjos will stay on the card or if they will seek a replacement opponent for him.
