Sterling is expected to remain on the card at this time as UFC officials are seeking a replacement opponent for him to fight. UFC Fight Night Fresno is the last scheduled “Fight Night” card for 2017 and it is also one of the final UFC events to be taking place this year.

Sterling (14-2-0) will enter the fight on the strength of a two bout winning streak, defeating the duo of Augusto Mendes and Renan Barao. Sterling is also a former Cage Fury Fighting Championships Bantamweight Champion, defeating Sean Santella to win the gold at CFFC 11 in 2011. Sterling has suffered only two defeats as a pro, coming in the UFC to top 15 ranked fighters Bryan Caraway and Raphael Assuncao.

UFC Fight Night Fresno takes place on Saturday, December 9 from the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California with Cub Swanson and Brian Ortega headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
