A bantamweight division attraction is reportedly set for UFC On Fox 29 according to MMA Fighting as #15 Matthew Lopez may be in action against Alejandro Perez.
Lopez (10-2-0) has won two of his last three bouts under the UFC banner, but is coming off of a loss to Pedro Munhoz at UFC Fight Night Norfolk. Lopez has seen three of his four bouts in the UFC make it into the third round and only one of those fights went the distance. Lopez also fought a total of five times in the Resurrection Fighting Alliance, winning all of those bouts within the opening round.
Perez (19-6-1) has won four of his last five in the UFC, with two wins coming by KO/TKO and two wins coming by way of decision. Perez hasn’t suffered a defeat in almost three years, with that last loss coming to Patrick Williams at UFC 188. Perez was also the winner of the UFC Ultimate Fighter Latin America 1, defeating Jose Alberto Quinonez in the finals.
UFC On Fox 29 takes place on Saturday, April 14 from the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona with Justin Gaethje and Dustin Poirier headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox.
