Ashlee Evans-Smith was in need of an opponent for UFC Fight Night Phoenix after the withdraw of Lauren Murphy, and now she has one.
Mike Heck of My MMA News has reported that Evans-Smith will take on Andrea Lee on the show.
Lee (9-2-0) is currently undefeated in UFC competition, having defeated Veronica Macedo by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night Chile. Lee has suffered a total of three losses as a pro and amateur fighter, with two of them coming to UFC veterans Roxanne Modafferi and Katlyn Chookagian. Lee has suffered a defeat in over two years and that last loss came to Sarah D’Alelio via submission at Invicta FC 16.
Evans-Smith (6-3-0) is undefeated since moving down to the flyweight division, defeating Bec Rawlings by decision at UFC 223. Evans-Smith also competed in the Championship Fighting Alliance, where she defeated transgender fighter Fallon Fox in the finals of a four woman tournament in 2013. Evans-Smith also picked up five victories as an amateur MMA fighter, with one of them coming over UFC veteran turned pro wrestler Jessamyn Duke.
UFC Fight Night Phoenix takes place on Sunday, February 17 from the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona with Francis Ngannou and Cain Velasquez headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
