Tragedy has struck the MMA community as the remains of Aniah Blanchard, who is the stepdaughter of UFC fighter Walt Harris, may have been discovered today off of Macon County Road 2, which is not far from the New Hope Baptist Church.
“I can confirm that human remains have been found and we have good reason to suspect they are that of Aniah Blanchard,” said District Attorney Brandon Hughes to News 3.
The report from News 3 also reveals that Blanchard’s family has been notified of the discovery.
Blanchard went missing on October 23 and Harris immediately took to social media to ask for help in locating his missing stepdaughter. The MMA community, as well as the citizens of Auburn stepped up as well in the search for Blanchard, offering over $100,000 for any information leading to her safe return.
Aniah was just 19 years old.
A pair of arrests have been made in connection with Blanchard’s disappearance, as Ibraheem Yazeed and Antwain Fisher were apprehended by authorities in the last few weeks, both are in jail and being held without bond at this time.
