Ashkan Mokhtarian has suffered an unspecified injury and has been pulled from next weekends UFC Fight Night Adelaide card, where he was supposed to be fighting Kai Kara France.
UFC officials are seeking a replacement opponent for France to fight according to MMA Junkie, but they have just one week before the event takes place, as it is scheduled for December 1. There is no word yet on how long Mokhtarian is expected to be out of action for or the exact nature of the injury that pulled him from the bout.
France (17-7-0-1NC) is going to be making his UFC debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a five fight winning streak. France also competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 24, making it to the quarterfinals before losing to Alexandre Pantoja via unanimous decision. France hasn’t suffered a defeat in almost two years, with that last loss coming to Tatsumitsu Wada via unanimous decision at Rizin 3.
UFC Fight Night Adelaide takes place on Saturday, December 1 from the Adelaide Entertainment Center in Adelaide, Australia with Junior Dos Santos and Tai Tuivasa headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
