Report: Brian Foster Out, PFL 5 Gets New Main Event

Brian Foster has been removed from the upcoming PFL 5 card for unknown reasons according to MMA NYTT, replacing him against Natan Schulte is going to be Jason High.

Schulte (12-3-0) is also undefeated at this point in the PFL’s inaugural season, having beaten Chris Wade by unanimous decision at PFL 2. Schulte is competing twice in a calendar year for the first time since 2014, when the fighter went 3-0-0 in that year. Schulte also competed once in the WSOF, suffering a second round submission loss to Islam Mamedov at the WSOF 35.

High (21-7-0) is currently winless in the first season of the PFL, suffering a submission loss to fellow UFC veteran Efrain Escudero at PFL 2. High won two of four fights during his time in the UFC, with those victories coming over the duo of James Head and Anthony Lapsley. High also competed three times in the World Series Of Fighting, with a pair of wins coming over Mike Ricci and Estevan Payan.

PFL 5 takes place on Thursday, August 2 from the NYCB Live in Uniondale, New York with Jason High and Natan Schulte headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the NBC Sports Network.
