The Professional Fighters League 5 card is less than two weeks away and we finally have a main event as UFC veteran Brian Foster faces Natan Schulte.
Foster (28-10-0) is undefeated thus far in the first PFL season, having defeated Ramsey Nijem by third round TKO at PFL 2. Foster won three of five during his time competing in the UFC, with those victories coming over Brock Larson, Forrest Petz and Matt Brown. Foster has previously challenged for the World Series Of Fighting Lightweight Title, losing to then champion Justin Gaethje at the WSOF 29.
Schulte (12-3-0) is also undefeated at this point in the PFL’s inaugural season, having beaten Chris Wade by unanimous decision at PFL 2. Schulte is competing twice in a calendar year for the first time since 2014, when the fighter went 3-0-0 in that year. Schulte also competed once in the WSOF, suffering a second round submission loss to Islam Mamedov at the WSOF 35.
Other fights on the card include Brandon Halsey vs. Vinny Magalhaes, Luiz Firmino vs. Rashid Magomedov, Rakim Cleveland vs. Maxim Grishin, Will Brooks vs. Robert Watley, Artur Alibulatov vs. Dan Spohn, Efrain Escudero vs. Islam Mamedov, Arthur Estrazulas vs. Thiago Tavares and Yuki Kawana vs. Chris Wade.
PFL 5 takes place on Thursday, August 2 from the NYCB Live in Uniondale, New York with Brian Foster and Natan Schulte headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the NBC Sports Network.
