This weekends UFC Fight Night Tampa card has taken a hit because a report from MMA Junkie is stating that Brok Weaver has been pulled from the card for undisclosed reasons, as he was supposed to face Thomas Gifford at the event.
There is less than a week to go before the event, as UFC officials will not have a lot of time to find a replacement to fight Gifford, who is expected to remain on the card at this time.
Gifford (14-8-0-2NC) is winless thus far under the UFC banner, having dropped a bout to Roosevelt Roberts at UFC Fight Night Fort Lauderdale. Gifford hasn’t picked up a victory in over a year, with that last win coming at Kansas City Fighting Alliance 29 in July of 2018. Gifford has picked up fourteen wins as a professional MMA fighter and twelve of them came by way of submission.
UFC Fight Night Tampa takes place on Saturday, October 12 from the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida with Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Michelle Waterson headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
