Cat Zingano's time in the UFC appears to be over after fighting for the company since 2013.
First reported by MMA Junkie, Zingano, a former title contender, has been released by UFC, competing in seven fights including challenging Ronda Rousey for the bantamweight title.
Zingano first came into the UFC by first beating Miesha Tate by TKO at the The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale. After defeating current double champion Amanda Nunes in 2014, Zingano got her shot at the UFC bantamweight title when she faced Ronda Rousey at UFC 184. Rousey dashed those UFC title aspirations by beating Zingano in 14 seconds to retain the title.
After the loss to Rousey, Zingano spent 18 months out of the octagon before returning at UFC 200, dropping a unanimous decision to Julianna Pena. After a loss to Ketlen Vieira in her next fight at UFC 222, Zingano beat Marion Reneau in July 2018. Zingano's last fight was a loss to Megan Anderson this past December. Zingano unsuccessfully protested the fight, saying her eye injury that caused the bout to be stopped was due to Anderson poking her in the eye with a toe and tried to overturn the fight into a no contest.
Zingano, who also owns a win over Raquel Pennington in their pre-UFC fight days, was 3-4 in the octagon. Overall, Zingano owns a 10-4 record as an MMA fighter.
