A women’s strawweight division bout has been added to UFC Fight Night Beunos Aires according to Combate as Cynthia Calvillo is going to be in action against Poliana Botelho.
Calvillo (6-1-0) is returning to action for the first time since a USADA issued suspension kept her out of the Octagon since late 2017. Calvillo is also looking to rebound from her first professional MMA defeat, which came to former UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Carla Esparza at UFC 219. Calvillo has picked up a total of six wins as a professional MMA fighter, with two coming by KO/TKO, two coming by submission and two coming by way of decision.
Botelho (7-1-0) is currently undefeated under the UFC banner, having defeated the duo of Pearl Gonzalez and Syuri Kondo. Botelho hasn’t suffered a defeat in well over four years and that last loss came to UFC veteran Viviane Pereira at Bitetti Combat 20. Botelho is a former Xtreme Fighting Championships International Women’s Strawweight Champion, defeating Silvana Gomez Suarez to win the gold in September of 2015.
