Report: Dhiego Lima Injured, Off UFC 247

Next months UFC 247 card has taken a hit because Dhiego Lima has reportedly suffered a neck injury and is no longer competing at the event.

Combate first reported the news, as the injury is expected to keep Lima from training for approximately two months. Alex Morono, who Lima was supposed to face at UFC 247, is expected to remain on the card at this time.

Morono (17-5-0-1NC) enters the contest while in the midst of a three fight winning streak, defeating the trio of Kenan Song, Zak Ottow and Max Griffin. Morono hasn’t suffered a defeat in over a year, with that last loss coming to Jordan Mein at UFC On Fox 30. Morono has suffered five losses as a professional MMA fighter and four of them came by way of decision.

UFC 247 takes place on Saturday, February 8 from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas with Jon Jones and Dominick Reyes headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
