A featherweight division attraction has been added to the upcoming UFC Fight Night Chile card according to MMA Fighting as Enrique Barzola clashes with Brandon Davis.
Barzola (14-3-1) enters the contest on the strength of a three fight winning streak, defeating the trio of Chris Avila, Gabriel Benitez and Matt Bessette. Barzola was the winner of the UFC Ultimate Fighter Latin America 2, defeating Horacio Gutierrez in the finals of the reality show. Barzola hasn’t suffered a defeat in almost two years, with his last loss coming to Kyle Bochniak at UFC on Fox 21.
Davis (9-3-0) has won just one of two fights under the UFC banner, with that victory coming over Steven Peterson at UFC Fight Night Austin. Davis also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 4, defeating Austin Arnett by unanimous decision. Davis competed eight times as an amateur MMA competitor, with six of those fights ending by way of submission.
UFC Fight Night Chile takes place on Saturday, May 19 from the Movistar Arena in Santiago, Chile with Santiago Ponzinibbio and Kamaru Usman headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
