A women’s strawweight division attraction has been added to UFC 252 as #14 Felice Herrig faces Virna Jandiroba.
MMA Junkie reported the bout, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.
Herrig (14-8-0) is returning to action after a one-plus year absence after the fighter had surgery to repair a serious knee injury. Herrig also comes into the bout riding a two fight losing streak, dropping fights to the duo of Karolina Kowalkiewicz and Michelle Waterson. Herrig hasn’t picked up a victory in over two years, with that last win coming over Cortney Casey at UFC 218.
Jandiroba (15-1-0) has won just one of two under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Mallory Martin at UFC Fight Night Washington DC. Jandiroba has suffered a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came against Carla Esparza at UFC Fight Night Fort Lauderdale. Jandiroba is a former Invicta FC Strawweight Champion, defeating Mizuki Inoue at Invicta FC 28 to claim the gold.
UFC 252 takes place on Saturday, August 15 from a location to be announced with Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
