Report: Francis Ngannou Joins The Cast Of Next Fast & Furious Film

Francis Ngannou is one of MMA’s most recognizable heavyweight fighters and now he is taking those skills to the world of feature films.

A report from Deadline is stating that the UFC star will have a roll in the next installment of the Fast & Furious franchise, which is slated to be released on May 20 of next year.

Ngannou will join a previously announced cast of Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron, John Cena and others. There is no word at this time as to what Ngannou’s role in the film is going to be or how much screen time the fighter is expected to be getting.

The heavyweight fighter is the third former professional MMA competitor to get a big role in the Fast & Furious franchise, with Gina Carano and former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey previously appearing for the franchise.

This installment of the Fast & Furious is expected to be based around Dom (Diesel) and his crew going after Cipher (Theron), who was also the villain in the Fate Of The Furious. Notables who may not have a role in the ninth Fast & Furious film include The Rock and Jason Statham, who starred in a spin off earlier this year.
