A women’s bantamweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night: Holm vs. Aldana as #1 Germaine De Randamie faces #4 Julianna Pena.
MMA Fighting first reported the bout, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.
De Randamie (9-4-0) is competing for the first time since losing a title bout to two division UFC champion Amanda Nunes at UFC 245. De Randamie is a former UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion, defeating Holly Holm to win the gold at UFC 208. De Randamie has picked up nine wins as a professional MMA fighter and five of them came by way of decision.
Pena (9-3-0) has won five of six under the UFC banner, with notable wins coming over Jessica Eye, Cat Zingano and Nicco Montano. Pena was the women’s bantamweight winner of the UFC Ultimate Fighter 18, defeating Jessica Rakoczy in the finals of the reality show. Pena hasn’t competed in a year, as her last bout came at UFC Fight Night Sacramento in July of last year.
UFC Fight Night: Holm vs. Aldana is set for Saturday, October 3 from a location to be announced with Holly Holm and Irene Aldana headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be announced.
