A lightweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Fort Lauderdale according to Raphael Marinho of Combate as Gilbert Burns is in action against Eric Wisely.
Burns (14-3-0) has won three of his last four under the UFC banner, with those victories coming over the trio of Jason Saggo, Dan Moret and Olivier Aubin-Mercier. Burns is back on a Fight Night card for the first time in well over a year, with his last such appearance coming back at UFC Fight Night Pittsburgh in September of 2016. Burns has picked up fourteen wins as a professional MMA fighter and half of them came by way of submission.
Wisely (31-9-1) is starting his second run with the UFC, going winless in the first run with the promotion with a record of 0-2-0. Wisely enters the contest while in the midst of a seven fight winning streak and six of those victories have come by some form of finish. Wisely is also a former Pinnacle Combat and Caged Aggression Lightweight Champion, relinquishing both titles upon returning to the UFC.
UFC Fight Night Fort Lauderdale takes place on Saturday, April 27 from the BB&T Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with Yoel Romero and Ronaldo Souza headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
