A women’s flyweight division bout has been added to UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo according to Farah Hannoun as Gillian Robertson is in action against Mayra Bueno Silva.
Robertson (5-2-0) is currently undefeated under the UFC banner, having defeated the duo of Emily Whitmire and Molly McCann. Robertson competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 26, but lost in the opening round of the reality show to Barb Honchak. Robertson hasn’t suffered a defeat in almost two years, with that last loss coming to Cynthia Calvillo at Global Knockout 8.
Silva (4-0-0) is going to be making her UFC debut in this fight and does so with an undefeated streak that has lasted over two years. Silva also competed on Dana White’s Contender Series Brazil Episode 1, defeating Mayana Souza Dos Santos by first round submission. Silva is also the current Batalha MMA Women’s Flyweight Champion, defeating Daiane Firmino by decision to win the gold in March of 2017.
UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo takes place on Saturday, September 22 from the Ibirapuerora Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil with Jimi Manuwa and Thiago Santos headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
