A women’s bantamweight division attraction has been added to UFC 235 according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal as Gina Mazany faces Macy Chiasson.
Mazany (5-2-0) has won just one of three fights under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Yanan Wu at UFC Fight Night Shanghai. Mazany also competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 18, losing in the opening round of the reality show to eventual winner Julianna Pena. Mazany has seen three of her professional MMA fights go the distance and the fighter has picked up wins in two of those encounters.
Chiasson (3-0-0) was the women’s featherweight winner of the UFC Ultimate Fighter 28, defeating Pannie Kianzad in the finals. Chiasson has fought just twice before as a professional MMA fighter, defeating the duo of Miranda Dearing and Allison Schmidt. Chiasson has also won three of four as an amateur MMA fighter, with that lone loss coming to Invicta FC Featherweight Champion Felicia Spencer.
UFC 235 takes place on Saturday, March 2 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
