Former NFL star turned MMA fighter Greg Hardy is set to make his professional MMA debut according to MMA Today and the one time football player is set to face Brandon Sayles on June 12.
Hardy (0-0-0) has previously competed as an amateur MMA fighter, winning a total of three fights prior to turning pro. Hardy earned three victories as an amateur over Joe Hawkins, Kenneth Woods and Ryan Chester, who are all winless as amateur fighters. Hardy also competed in the Legacy Fighting Alliance as an amateur and none of his bouts have gone past the opening round.
Sayles (5-1-0) is going to enter the bout riding a three fight winning streak, defeating the trio of Robert Neal, Adrian Henderson and Dexter Carthon. Sayles has suffered just a single defeats as a professional and that came to UFC veteran Chase Gormley. Sayles has seen just one of his professional MMA bouts go the distance and that was the aforementioned loss to Gormley.
