A women’s strawweight division attraction has been added to UFC 241 according to MMA Junkie as Hannah Cifers is going to be in action against Jodie Esquibel.
Cifers (9-3-0) has won just one of two under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming against Polyana Viana at UFC 235. Cifers has competed twelve times as a professional MMA fighter and just five of those bouts went to the judges scorecards. Cifers has suffered a total of three losses as a professional MMA fighter and all of those losses came to current UFC roster members.
Esquibel (6-5-0) enters the contest while in the midst of a three fight losing streak and she hasn’t picked up a win in over two years. Esquibel has seen her last seven professional MMA fights go the distance and it has been over eight years since the fighter got a finish. Esquibel has competed eleven times as a professional MMA fighter and nine of those encounters went the distance.
UFC 241 takes place on Saturday, August 17 from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California with Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
