A women’s bantamweight division attraction has been added to UFC 228 according to Milenio as #12 Irene Aldana is going to be in action against #13 Lucie Pudilova.
Aldana (8-4-0) is looking to build momentum after gaining her first UFC victory, which came over Talita Bernardo at UFC Fight Night St. Louis. Aldana had previously competed in the Invicta FC promotion, picking up victories over a pair of UFC veterans in Jessamyn Duke and Peggy Morgan. Aldana had challenged for the Invicta FC Bantamweight Title, losing to then champion Tonya Evinger at Invicta FC 13.
Pudilova (8-2-0) enters the contest on a two fight winning streak, having defeated the duo of Ji Yeon Kim and Sarah Moras. Pudilova has seen her last three bouts go the distance and it has been nearly two years since the fighter got a finish. Pudilova is also a former Gladiator Championship Fighting Women’s Bantamweight Champion, defeating Melinda Fabian by decision to win the gold in March of 2016.
UFC 228 takes place on Saturday, September 8 from the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas with Tyron Woodley and Darren Till headlining. Fightful will provide live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
