The upcoming UFC On Fox 28 card has taken a hit because Jake Collier is reportedly out of his light heavyweight division bout against Marcin Prachnio due to an injury that may require surgery.
MMA Fighting first reported the news.
UFC officials are seeking a replacement fight to face Prachnio, who is expected to remain on the card at this time. The promotion does have a lot of time to find a new opponent, since the card is well over a month away. Neither the UFC or Collier have commented on the injury or revealed exactly what the ailment was the knocked Collier off the card.
Prachnio (13-2-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this bout and does so on the strength of an eight fight winning streak. Prachnio hasn’t suffered a defeat in over three years and that last loss came to Aleksandar Rakic at Final Fight Championship 16. Prachnio has competed in the One Championship promotion for his last four fights and three of his four wins in the promotion came by KO/TKO.
UFC On Fox 28 takes place on Saturday, February 24 from the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox.
