A lightweight division attraction has been added to Bellator 226 according to MMA Junkie as Jake Smith is going to be in action against Adam Piccolotti.
Smith (7-2-0) is undefeated thus far under the Bellator MMA banner, having defeated Steve Kozola by first round knockout at Bellator 193. Smith is going to be back in action for the first time in almost two years, as Bellator 193 took place in January of 2018. Smith has picked up seven wins as a professional MMA fighter and five of them have come by way of KO/TKO.
Piccolotti (11-3-0) has won two of his last three in Bellator MMA competition, with those wins coming over the duo of Carrington Banks and James Terry. Piccolotti has spent more than half of his professional MMA career competing in Bellator MMA, picking up a record of 7-3-0 in the promotion. Piccolotti has seen just six of his fourteen professional MMA bouts go the distance and the fighter won four of those encounters.
Bellator 226 takes place on Saturday, September 7 from the SAP Center in San Jose, California with Ryan Bader and Cheick Kongo headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on DAZN.
