Report: Jamahal Hill Replaces Saparbeg Safarov At UFC Fight Night Shenzhen

Saparbeg Safarov has been pulled from UFC Fight Night Shenzhen according to reporter John Hyon Ko, replacing him against Da Un Jung is Jamahal Hill.

Jung (10-2-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a nine fight winning streak. Jung hasn’t suffered a defeat as a professional MMA fighter in almost four years, with that last loss coming against Rogue Martinez at Top FC 9 in October of 2015. Jung has picked up ten wins as a professional MMA fighter and eight of those victories came by way of KO/TKO.

Hill (6-0-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this bout and does so with an undefeated streak that has lasted almost two years. Hill competed on Dana White’s Contender Series Season 3, Episode 5, defeating Alexander Poppeck by second round TKO. Hill is going to be competing for the third time in 2019, making it his most active year as a professional MMA fighter.

UFC Fight Night Shenzhen takes place on Saturday, August 31 from the Universiade Sports Center in Shenzhen, China with Jessica Andrade and Weili Zhang headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
