A heavyweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Singapore according to Combate as Jeff Hughes is going to be in action against Raphael Pessoa.
Hughes (10-2-0-1NC) is winless thus far under the UFC banner, suffering a defeat to Maurice Greene at UFC Fight Night Wichita and fighting Todd Duffee to a no contest at UFC Fight Night Vancouver. Hughes competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 14, defeating Josh Appelt by first round knockout. Hughes is a former LFA Heavyweight Champion, defeating Richard Odoms by unanimous decision at LFA 26 to claim the gold.
Pessoa (9-1-0) is also winless thus far in UFC competition, having dropped a bout to Ciryl Gane via first round submission at UFC Fight Night Uruguay. Pessoa hasn’t picked up a victory in over a year, with that last win coming in September of 2018. Pessoa has competed a total of ten times as a professional MMA fighter and just two of those bouts went the distance.
UFC Fight Night Singapore takes place on Saturday, October 26 from the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore with Demian Maia and Ben Askren. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
