Report: Jeremy Stephens Faces Edson Barboza At UFC Fight Night: Holm vs. Aldana

A featherweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night: Holm vs. Aldana as #9 Jeremy Stephens faces Edson Barboza.

Raphael Marinho of Combate first reported the bout, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.

Stephens (28-18-0-1NC) enters the contest riding a four fight losing streak, dropping bouts to Jose Aldo, Zabit Magomedsharipov, Yair Rodriguez and Calvin Kattar. Stephens hasn’t picked up a victory in over two years, with that last win coming over Josh Emmett at UFC On Fox 28. Stephens has picked up twenty eight wins as a professional MMA fighter and nineteen of them came by way of KO/TKO.

Barboza (20-9-0) is winless thus far when competing at featherweight, dropping a bout to Dan Ige at UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs. Harris. Barboza hasn’t picked up a victory in almost two years, with his last win coming over Dan Hooker at UFC On Fox 31. Barboza has competed twenty nine times as a professional MMA fighter and eleven of those bouts went the distance.

UFC Fight Night: Holm vs. Aldana takes place on Saturday, October 3 from a location to be announced with Holly Holm and Irene Aldana headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be announced.
