A women’s strawweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night: Poirier vs. Hooker as Jinh Yu Frey faces Kay Hansen.
MMA Junkie first reported the bout, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.
Frey (9-4-0) is going to be making her UFC debut in this bout and does so having won three of her last four fights. Frey is now a former Invicta FC Strawweight Champion, defeating Minna Grusander to win the gold at Invicta FC 30 in July of 2018. Frey has competed thirteen times as a professional MMA fighter and eight of those encounters went the distance.
Hansen (6-3-0) is also going to be making her UFC debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a two fight winning streak. Hansen hasn’t suffered a defeat in over a year, with that last loss coming to Magdalena Sormova at Invicta FC Phoenix Series 1 in May of 2019. Hansen has picked up six wins as a professional MMA fighter and half of them came by way of submission.
UFC Fight Night: Poirier vs. Hooker takes place on Saturday, June 27 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Dustin Poirier and Dan Hooker headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
