A flyweight division contest could be coming to the upcoming UFC Fight Night Austin card as Joby Sanchez could be facing Roberto Sanchez.
MMA Today first reported the bout.
Joby (11-2-0) returns to the UFC for the first time in over two years, but he has been undefeated in between promotional appearances. Joby won just one of three during his first UFC tenure, with that lone win coming over Tateki Matsuda at UFC Fight Night 59. Joby also competed twice on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series, winning on episode one and episode seven.
Roberto (7-1-0) is currently winless under the UFC banner, dropping a fight to Joseph Morales at UFC Fight Night Mexico City. Roberto is a longtime veteran of the Legacy Fighting Championships, winning all five fights he fought in the promotion. Robert has only seen just one of his professional MMA bouts go the distance and that came against Jacob Silva at Legacy FC 39.
UFC Fight Night Austin takes place on Sunday, February 18 from the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas with Donald Cerrone and Yancy Medeiros headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
