John Lineker has reportedly suffered a rib injury and has been pulled from next weeks UFC Fight Night Brooklyn event, where he was supposed to fight Cory Sandhagen.
AG Fights first reported the injury, but the report did not state exactly how Lineker suffered the injury or how long the fighter is expected to be out of action for. It is unknown if Sandhagen will remain on the card at this time, as UFC officials have just over a week to find him an opponent with the event scheduled for next Saturday.
Sandhagen (9-1-0) is currently undefeated in UFC competition, having defeated the duo of Austin Arnett and Iuri Alcantara. Sandhagen has suffered just a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came against Jamall Emmers via unanimous decision at Legacy Fighting Alliance 5. Sandhagen has seen his last four fights end via some form of finish and the fighter hasn’t gone the distance in almost two years.
UFC Fight Night Brooklyn takes place on Saturday, January 19 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York with Henry Cejudo and TJ Dillashaw headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
