Report: Johnny Munoz Replaces Ray Borg at UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs. Shahbazyan

Ray Borg has withdrawn from UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs. Shahbazyan, replacing him against Nathan Maness is Johnny Munoz.

MMA Junkie first reported the news, although a reason for Borg’s withdrawal is unknown at this time.

Maness (11-1-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this bout and does so on approximately two weeks notice. Maness has suffered just a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to Taylor Lapilus at TKO MMA 48. Maness has picked up eleven wins as a professional MMA fighter and five of them came by way of decision.  

Munoz (10-0-0) is also going to be making his UFC debut in this fight and Munoz is the current KOTC Bantamweight Champion. Munoz is still undefeated as a professional MMA fighter and that streak has already lasted nearly five years. Munoz has picked up ten wins as a professional MMA fighter and six of them have come by way of submission.

UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs. Shahbazyan takes place on Saturday, August 1 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Derek Brunson and Edmen Shahbazyan headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
