A middleweight match-up between Julian Marquez and Saparbeg Safarov, originally scheduled for UFC Fight Night: Smith vs. Rakic, has been moved to the November 14 UFC card.
Farah Hannoun of MMA Junkie first reported the news, while also revealing that Saparbeg was forced off the original fight card for undisclosed reasons.
Marquez (7-2-0) has won just one of two under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Darren Stewart at UFC On Fox 26. Marquez also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 4, defeating Phil Hawes by first round knockout. Marquez has picked up seven wins as a professional MMA fighter and six of them came by way of KO/TKO.
Safarov (9-3-0) has won just one of for in the UFC, with that single win coming over Nicolae Negumereanu at UFC Fight Night London. Safarov hasn’t picked up a victory in over a year, as his previously mentioned win over Negumereanu came in March of 2019. Safarov has competed twelve times as a professional MMA fighter and just one of those bouts went the distance.
The yet to be announced UFC card is set for Saturday, November 14 from a location to be announced and with a main event to be announced. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be announced.
