Report: Kamaru Usman vs. Gilbert Burns Targeted For UFC 258

Kamaru Usman vs. Gilbert Burns reportedly has a new date set for the UFC welterweight title match.

Usman and Burns are reportedly scheduled to meet at a UFC event on February 13, according to Raphael Marinho of Combate. The athletes are reportedly waiting on contracts to make things official.

The UFC welterweight title match has been in the works for the entire second half of 2020. Usman and Burns were scheduled to meet at UFC 251 on July 12. Jorge Masvidal stepped in on short notice and lost a unanimous decision to the defending champion. Usman vs. Burns was subsequently rescheduled for UFC 256 on December 12; however, Usman delayed the fight to recover from undisclosed injuries.
