Report: Lina Lansberg Faces Yana Kunitskaya At UFC 229

A women’s bantamweight division attraction may be coming to the UFC 229 card according to Kimura.se as #11 Lina Lansberg is going to be in action against Yana Kunitskaya.

Lansberg (8-3-0) has rotated wins and losses throughout her run in the UFC, with her last bout being a victory over Gina Mazany at UFC Fight Night Liverpool. Lansberg made her UFC debut back at UFC Fight Night 95, suffering a second round TKO loss to UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Cyborg. Lansberg has suffered a total of three defeats as a professional MMA fighter and all of those losses have come by way of KO/TKO.

Kunitskaya (10-4-0-1NC) is competing for the first time since losing a UFC Women’s Featherweight Title bout to Cyborg at UFC 222. Kunitskaya is a former Invicta FC Bantamweight Champion, defeating Raquel Pa’aluhi to win the gold at Invicta FC 25. Kunitskaya is making her UFC Bantamweight Division debut in this bout, as the fighters lone UFC appearance came at featherweight.

UFC 229 takes place on Saturday, October 6 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
