A welterweight division clash has been added to UFC 243 according to MMA Junkie as Maki Pitolo is going to be in action against Callan Potter.
Pitolo (11-4-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this encounter and does so on the strength of a three fight winning streak. Pitolo also competed in Dana White’s Contender Series Season 3, Episode 3, defeating Justin Sumter by first round TKO. Pitolo also competed once in Bellator MMA, defeating Chris Cisneros by third round submission at Bellator 213.
Potter (17-8-0) is winless thus far under the UFC banner, having dropped a bout to Jalin Turner via first round TKO at UFC 234. Potter is a former Valor Fight Welterweight Champion, defeating Stuart Dare at Valor Fight 9 to claim the gold. Potter has competed a total of twenty five times as a professional MMA fighter and just one of those encounters went the distance.
