Irene Aldana is apparently going to be needing a new opponent for UFC Fight Night Mexico City as MMA Junkie is reporting that Marion Reneau had to withdrawal from the card for undisclosed reasons.
UFC officials are seeking a replacement opponent for Aldana to face, as she is expected to remain on the card at this time. There is no word at this time as to why Reneau withdrew from the event or how long she is expected to be out of action for.
Aldana (10-5-0) has won three of her last four under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over the trio of Talita Bernardo, Lucie Pudilova and Bethe Correia. Aldana has competed six times in the UFC and five of those six encounters went to the judges scorecards. Aldana has picked up ten wins as a professional MMA fighter and half of those victories came by way of KO/TKO.
UFC Fight Night Mexico City takes place on Saturday, September 21 from the Arena Ciudad De Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico with Yair Rodriguez and Jeremy Stephens headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
