Report: Maryna Moroz Injured, Off UFC 241

Maryna Moroz has suffered an elbow injury and has been pulled from the upcoming UFC 241 card, where she was supposed to battle Poliana Botelho.

Moroz’s team would issue the following statement to MMA Fighting on the matter:

Conor McGregor Claims He's In Preliminary Agreements With The Ambani Family To Face Logan Paul In A Boxing Match

”In Maryna’s name, we want to apologize to Polyana for Maryna having dropped out of the fight. Maryna took a kick in her elbow, which inflamed her ulna nerve. She is still in a lot of pain and still cannot use her arm. We hope that the UFC finds Polyana a worthy opponent and wish her the best of luck.”

MMA Premium first reported the news, but didn’t reveal the amount of time that Moroz is expected to miss due to the injury. Botelho is expected to remain on the card at this time, as UFC officials are seeking a replacement opponent for her to fight.

Botelho (8-2-0) will enter a potential fight having won three of four under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over the trio of Pearl Gonzalez, Syuri Kondo and Lauren Mueller.

UFC 241 takes place on Saturday, August 17 from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California with Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
