Report: Michael Chiesa Faces Diego Sanchez At UFC 239

A welterweight division attraction has been added to UFC 239 according to Ariel Helwani of ESPN as Michael Chiesa is going to be in action against Diego Sanchez.

Chiesa (15-4-0) has been undefeated since moving up to the welterweight division, defeating former UFC Interim Welterweight Champion Carlos Condit by second round submission at UFC 232. Chiesa was the lightweight winner of the UFC Ultimate Fighter 15, defeating Al Iaquinta in the finals of the reality show. Chiesa has competed as a lightweight and welterweight in the UFC, earning an overall of 8-4-0 in the promotion.

Sanchez (29-11-0) enters the contest while in the midst of a two fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Craig White and Mickey Gall. Sanchez has previously challenged for the UFC Lightweight Championship, losing to then champion BJ Penn at UFC 107. Sanchez was the middleweight winner of the UFC Ultimate Fighter 1, defeating Kenny Florian by first round TKO to win the reality show.
