Legendary heavyweight fighter Mirko Cro Cop is set to make his Bellator MMA debut in a few months against UFC veteran Roy Nelson at Bellator 200.
Cro Cop has already had a sketchy past with drug testing, having failed a test prior to a scheduled bout against Anthony Hamilton at UFC Fight Night: Henderson vs. Alves in 2015.
MMA Fighting is reporting that Mohegan Tribe Of Athletic Regulation director Mike Mazzulli is going to be handling the drug testing for all Bellator 200 fighters, with Cro Cop being one of the competitors who will get tested before the event.
The promotion and its president in Scott Coker recently came under fire for bringing Cro Cop into the fold, despite the fact that the fighter never served a two year suspension from USADA. During the time Cro Cop was supposed to stop fighting, a defiant fighter instead competed for Rizin in Japan, winning the promotions 2016 Openweight Grand Prix.
While Cro Cop has yet to get tested, a squad of fighters competing at Bellator 200 have already gotten tested. Those four fighters are Roy Nelson, David Rickels, former Bellator MMA Light Heavyweight Champion Phil Davis and Gegard Mousasi.
Bellator 200 takes place on Friday, May 25 from the SSE Arena in London, England with Rafael Carvlaho and Gegard Mousasi headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs via tape delay on the Paramount Network.
