A lightweight division encounter has been rescheduled for UFC 223 according to Flo Combat as #11 Al Iaquinta is going to be taking on Paul Felder.
The bout between the two was originally set for UFC 218, but Iaquinta suffered an injury in the weeks leading up to the bout.
Iaquinta (13-3-1) will enter the fight on the strength of a five fight winning streak and hasn’t suffered a defeat in over three years. Iaquinta has only competed one time in the last two years, which was a knockout win over Diego Sanchez at UFC Fight Night 108. Iaquinta also made it to the finals of the UFC Ultimate Fighter 15, but was defeated by Michael Chiesa in that final fight.
Felder (14-3-0) enters the fight on a three bout winning streak, defeating the trio of Charles Oliveira, Alessandro Ricci and Stevie Ray. Felder is also a veteran of the Cage Fury Fighting Championships promotion, where he defeated TUF 16 competitor Julian Lane. Felder hasn’t seen a bout go the distance in almost two years, with the last one to do so coming against Josh Burkman at UFC Fight Night 88.
UFC 223 takes place on Saturday, April 7 from a location to be announced and with a main event yet to be announced. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
