Report: Phil Davis vs. Lyoto Machida II Headlines Bellator 245

A light heavyweight division rematch is set to headline Bellator 245 as former Bellator MMA Light Heavyweight Champion Phil Davis will again battle former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Lyoto Machida.

Davis (21-5-0-1NC) won the first meeting between himself and Machida, with that win coming by unanimous decision at UFC 163. Davis is a former Bellator MMA Light Heavyweight Champion, defeating Liam McGeary to win the gold at Bellator 163. Davis also enters the bout riding a two fight winning streak and he hasn’t been defeated in almost two years.

Machida (26-9-0) has won two of three under the Bellator MMA banner, with those wins coming over Rafael Carvalho and Chael Sonnen. Machida is a former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, defeating Rashad Evans at UFC 98 to win the gold. Machida has picked up twenty six wins as a professional MMA fighter and half of them came by way of decision.

Bellator 245 takes place on Friday, September 11 from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut with Phil Davis and Lyoto Machida headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
