A lightweight division attraction has been added to Dana White’s Contender Series Episode 30 as Rafael Alves faces Alejandro Flores.
Combate first reported the news, but the bouts spot on the card isn’t known at this time.
Alves (18-9-0) is the current Titan FC Interim Lightweight Champion, defeating Felipe Douglas at Titan FC 54 to win the gold. Alves hasn’t competed in over a year, as the aforementioned Titan FC 54 event took place in April of last year. Alves has suffered nine losses as a professional MMA fighter, with all of them coming from a mix of KO/TKO and submission.
Flores (10-2-0) enters the contest riding a two fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Levy Marroquin and Marco Antonio Elpidio. Flores is a former Combate Extremo Lightweight Champion, defeating Ricardo Arreola to win the gold in December of 2017. Flores has picked up ten wins as a professional MMA fighter and eight of them have come by way of decision.
Dana White’s Contender Series Episode 30 takes place on Tuesday, August 25 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
