A middleweight division attraction is the newest addition to the Bellator 198 card according to MMA Fighting as Rafael Lovato Jr. is in action against John Salter.
Lovato Jr. (7-0-0) has already competed three times under the Bellator MMA banner, last defeating Chris Honeycutt by unanimous decision at Bellator 189. Lovato Jr has only seen one of his seven professional MMA fights go the distance and that was the previously mentioned encounter at Bellator 189. Lovato Jr also competed four times in the Legacy Fighting Championships, where he defeated fellow Bellator MMA fighter Kevin Holland.
Salter (15-3-0) is undefeated thus far in Bellator MMA competition, which includes a win over former middleweight champion Brandon Halsey at Bellator 156. Salter also competed three times in the UFC, with his only win in the promotion coming over Jason MacDonald at UFC 113. Salter hasn’t suffered a defeat in almost six years, with that last loss coming to Reggie Pena at Xtreme Fighting Championships 18.
