A middleweight division affair could be coming to this May’s UFC 224 event according to MMA Brasil as Ramazan Emeev is in action against Alberto Mina.
Emeev (16-3-0) is currently undefeated under the UFC banner, defeating Sam Alvey by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night Gdansk. Emeev is also a former two time M-1 Challenge Middleweight Champion, defeating UFC veteran Mario Miranda and Vyacheslav Vasilevsky to start both reigns. Emeev hasn’t suffered a defeat in well over three years and he also enters the bout on a five fight winning streak.
Mina (13-0-0) has already earned three wins in UFC competition, last defeating Mike Pyle by second round knockout at UFC Fight Night 90. Mina is also competing for the first time in over a year, as the bout against Pyle came in July of 2016. Mina has only seen one of his professional MMA fights go the distance and that came against Yoshihiro Akiyama at UFC Fight Night 79.
UFC 224 takes place on Saturday, May 12 from the Jeunesse Arena in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
